Since the late 1980s, a remarkable change has reaffirmed the potential of agroecology even amidst monocultures. Together with families, our organisations have implemented biodiverse gardens – small backyard spaces of about 40 square meters that were previously vacant or used to dump waste – featuring a mix of vegetables, fruits, medicinal herbs, edible ‘weeds’ and pollinator-friendly plants.
