Otters are a charismatic creature of the Tamiraparani River. People who use the river come across the otters when bathing in the ghats or while fishing. The iconic Tirupadaimarthur temple has wall paintings of the otters. Yet, we know little about otters. Using camera traps and narratives, we are mapping their distribution along the river, identifying hotspots for conservation.
