This interdisciplinary research aims to study a first-of-its-kind, large-scale wastewater irrigation project in India—Koramangala-Challaghatta (KC) valley tank-filling lift-irrigation project, commonly referred to as the KC Valley project (KCVP). The research intends to examine the conceptualization, justification, implementation, and operationalization of KCVP, along with its impact on the environment and society. Examining the conceptualization and justification means understanding the appropriateness of KCVP in addressing the root cause of the problem, origin and propagation of the idea, design of the project and the assumptions involved, justification of the project, assessment of the risk involved, and the role of associated stakeholders.
