Due to the increase in pollution and the loss of green spaces in Bengaluru, there has been an increase in lake restoration initiatives led by the government and local communities. The Kannamangala Lake Park project aims to contribute to these efforts by utilising effective scientific methods to enhance the lake’s water quality and ecological value as it will provide mental health and well-being benefits for the city’s residents. The project will address existing problems that require immediate attention and introduce new programmes to create a restoration model that considers the site and its various stakeholders. Ultimately, it will serve as a blueprint for other community-led lake restoration projects.
