Once CFR rights are recognised, the gram sabhas have to prepare a conservation and management plan that will enable livelihood enhancement, forest sustainability and equitable sharing of forest benefits by the gram sabha members. Our team is engaged in a series of capacity-building programmes for civil society organisations and grassroots activists across Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and eastern Madhya Pradesh. Our training covers the goals of CFR management, an introduction to the template for CFR Management Planning developed for Maharashtra government, mapping CFR boundaries, drafting CFR Management Plans with the village community, and linking CFRMPs to state schemes and programmes.
