Vandita Sharma is an IAS officer of the 1986 batch, Karnataka cadre. She holds a Masters Degree in English Literature from Punjab University, Chandigarh, and has also obtained a Masters Degree in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines.

In her 37 years of administrative experience, she has served in various departments in the state of Karnataka such as Women & Child Development, Primary and Secondary Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure Development, Forest and Environment etc.  She was also on deputation to the Government of India and served in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and in the Department of Space in different capacities.  She also served as Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner, and later as Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka at the time of attaining superannuation.
