Seena is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Insect Biosystematics and Conservation Laboratory at ATREE. She completed her PhD in the field of biosystematics, specializing in Scarabaeinae dung beetles of the Shendurney region in the Southern Western Ghats, at Kannur University in Kerala. She holds a Master’s Degree in Zoology from the University of Calicut, with a specialization in Entomology, as well as an M. Phil. Degree from the same university.
Seena is an EOL Rubenstein Fellow and has contributed significantly to the field of biodiversity documentation. She has prepared species pages dedicated to Scarabaeinae dung beetles of the Indian subcontinent, which have been shared on the India Biodiversity Portal (IBP), a map-based wiki portal that focuses on biodiversity.
Seena’s research has led to the discovery and naming of three new species of dung beetles, further enriching our understanding of these fascinating creatures.
