Sachin specialises in studying water governance-related issues, with a specific focus on equity and justice. His work delves into the intersection of the physical/natural water system and the human system, exploring how these systems interact, influence, and shape each other. His research interests span water supply, irrigation management, watershed management, and small-scale water service providers. Prior to joining ATREE, he was affiliated with the Centre for Water Policy and Governance at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. As a development practitioner, he implemented watershed management programs in tribal regions of Central India and Northern Maharashtra.
Sachin holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly known as UDCT), Mumbai. He also earned a master’s degree in Water Management from the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, Netherlands, and completed his Ph.D. in Policy Studies from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
