Community Builder: Centre for Learning and Exchange

Description

The Community Builder will be responsible for fostering engagement and collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and local communities involved in the project . This role involves strengthening networks, facilitating knowledge-sharing and building a network. 

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, local communities, and NGOs.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions, dialogues, and workshops to enhance collaboration between ATREE, INR, and external partners.
  • Develop strategies to strengthen community engagement in research and conservation initiatives.
  • Create and manage platforms (both digital and in-person) for ongoing interaction, such as discussion forums, newsletters, or learning exchanges.
  • Document and amplify community voices and local knowledge, ensuring inclusivity in research and decision-making processes.
  • Work closely with the communications team to share stories, case studies, and learnings from the Centre’s activities.
  • Support the design and implementation of training programs that empower local communities and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate engagement strategies, adapting them based on feedback and impact assessment.

Qualifications

  • A degree in social sciences, communications, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or participatory research.
  • Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in organizing events, workshops, or capacity-building initiatives.
  • Familiarity with digital engagement tools and social media for community-building.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in conservation, sustainability, or rural development projects.
  • Knowledge of participatory research methodologies
  • Proficiency in either Hindi/Telugu/Marathi
