Anita Arjundas is the Executive Director at ATREE, she also serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Governors of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and on the India Advisory Board of The Nature Conservancy (TNC).
Anita is an entrepreneurial leader with over three decades of multi-sector experience in the private and development sector. She was associated with the establishment and governance of Krea university, in its formative phase. Previously, Anita was a member of the Group Executive Board at the Mahindra group and Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Lifespaces.
Anita is passionate about environmental conservation and believes that transformative approaches to the way we live and use natural resources are critical to the health of the planet and the well-being of humans and non-humans. She catalysed the establishment of an open-source research hub for energy and water efficiency in the built environment – the Mahindra TERI Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Habitats in 2018 and served on the Steering Board of the World Economic Forum’s “Future of Urban Development & Services” from 2016-18.
Currently, Anita also serves on the India Stakeholder Council of the World Economic Forum’s 1t.org and the Advisory Board of the Centre for Sustainability at Mahindra University. She is also a member of the Technical Steering Committee of the Food and Land Use Coalition’s initiative for Nature based Solutions for Climate Mitigation and Adaptation
