Responsibilities

  • Verification of Staff Expense claims/vendor registration and bill payments/advances. 
  • Accounting of monthly salaries, vendor invoices, bank interest and statutory payments. 
  • Filing of accounting vouchers, project-related documents/ correspondence, NEFT letters, etc. 
  • Coordination with signatories & banks for cheques, bank letters, any other essential documents, account opening etc.
  • Data compilation for fixed assets along with reconciliation with books of account including physical verification of fixed assets.
  • Compilation of information and arranging the files and documents for Audit and general purposes.
  • Handling various reconciliations including bank and statutory reconciliations.
  • Supporting in various project related reports, updating data in government portals Darpan, PFMS.
  • Individually handling TDS, GST and other statutory payments & filings.
  • Updating and maintaining receipt books and issuing receipts.
  • Visiting the auditor’s office and Bank with relevant documents.
  • Coordination with staff/field offices for accounts-related work

Any other work assigned by the supervisor from time to time-related to accounts & finance

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Commerce/Accounts with 4-5 years experience as an Accountant or related position preferably in Non Profit sector. Additionally, being CA/ICWAI Inter would be desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems is a must. Exposure to Tally ERP/Prime will be an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of Advanced MS Excel, Payroll packages and TDS software will be an advantage.
  • Hands on knowledge and understanding of TDS, GST and other statutory compliances, return filing.
