Description

We are seeking highly motivated Senior Research Associates to enhance our collaborative research efforts in natural and social sciences.

ATREE is a leading non-profit research institution in Asia, recognized among the top 20 global think tanks. Our Ecoinformatics Lab focuses on advanced spatial, remote sensing, and landscape analysis to bridge gaps in conservation and sustainability science.

Responsibilities

Collate, analyze, and produce geospatial data using both proprietary and open-source RS-GIS platforms.
Coordinate field teams and collect primary geospatial data from remote locations.
Prepare high-quality thematic maps on land use, topography, hydrology, species distribution, and land degradation.
Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and reports.
Develop and maintain state-of-the-art geospatial methods and products.
Support teaching and assist ATREE faculty and students with geospatial data analysis.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Geoinformatics, RS-GIS, or Life Sciences with 5+ years of relevant research experience.
Proficiency in satellite image analysis, vector data processing, and thematic map preparation.
Experience with open-source and proprietary RS-GIS platforms (e.g., Google Earth Engine, QGIS, ArcGIS).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Proficiency in coding (JavaScript, Python, R, or PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with proprietary RS-GIS platforms (e.g., TerrSet, ENVI).
