A team of entomologists from the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) has discovered a new species of potter wasp from Arunachal Pradesh in India’s Eastern Himalayas. The new species, Pseumenes siangensis, named after the Siang Valley where it was found, was recently described in the journal Entomon, official publication of the Association for Advancement of Entomology (AAE), a non-governmental organization of Entomologists in India and abroad, since 1975. This discovery, led by Femi Ezhuthupallickal Benny, AP Ranjith, and Priyadarsanan Dharma Rajan, adds to the growing list of wasp species known in India.
