I am broadly interested in stream ecology and conservation. At ATREE I am working on landscape genetics of two endemic frogs from genus Nyctibatrachus in central Western Ghats India. Frogs belonging to Nyctibatrachus are stream-dwelling with some that live in leaf litter. These are clade endemic. Many streams of Western ghats have been modified for agricultural fields. My PhD work involves understanding the effect of such landscape change on the genetic diversity of two co-distributed Nyctibatrachus species, N.kempholeyensis and N.jog. I have also been part of new discoveries of frogs.
Apart from amphibians and genetics, I am interested in immuno-ecology, landscape ecology and environmental history.Non research interests include cooking and bird watching
