Programme Officer: Environmental Education

Applications are invited for the position of Programme Officer (Environmental Education) at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), Bangalore. The job entails developing environmental education activity modules, conducting field-based courses at various community based conservation centres for various stakeholders and age groups. The candidates should be self-driven, highly motivated and willing to travel to various field sites and interact with diverse stakeholders. The candidate will report to the EE Committee at ATREE.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualising frameworks for Environmental Education and designing new approaches
  • Developing proposals for funding for various initiatives.
  • Developing content for programmes aimed at different sectors.
  • Interacting with various stakeholders in field sites.
  • Communicating and coordinating concepts with illustrators/designers.

Desirable qualifications

  • Bachelor's or a Master’s degree in natural sciences, sustainability, education, or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience in education.
  • A comprehensive understanding of environmental issues and interest in interacting with people.
  • Experience in science communication and content development.
  • Ability to work in a team and coordinate activities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Location: Based in Bangalore.

Remuneration: Based on experience
